How was your summer? (Now that we’re way into the fall…)
Joseph Bailey, a client for whom I authored some DVDs, recently took me on as his webmaster when his former one moved on to other projects. Within a couple of months, he will want a site overhaul. After a couple of months, I should be finished with an editing project and will be happy to oblige.
Peter Bisanz, filmmaker and owner of Entropy Films, LLC, has asked me to edit several spots for Harvard’s Young Global Leaders. This will be a series of shorts addressing who this august body is and what they do. Hopefully these spots will get a chance to air at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
I am taking on an extra project at the City of Edina this month as they are going to be airing 16 hours of classic, (and public domain), horror films on their community channel. Halloween 16 on Edina 16! I will be playing Bogdana the Gypsy-Witch that introduces the event and movies therein. It’s my opportunity to pay homage to one of the most memorable contributions to the sketch comedy genre ever, “Monster Chiller Horror Theater.” Real scary, kids!
I also finished up a volunteer project for a pastor friend of mine. I customized a WordPress site for him because his old site was just that — old. Looked like something I created with MS Front Page back in the late 90s. He needed something more scalable and something a little more visually up-to-date. I wish I had a little more time to put into the design, but hey! Free is free. (Now if he can just keep this site updated…)
What else? Finally plugged a lot of copy into EdinAlarm as I got it, but I know the site isn’t done yet. (The prospect of producing training videos for clients still lingers in the air.)
Shot and produced, (I use that last term lightly), some videos for the MN Dept. of Human Services as they had an all day speaker event at the end of June which needed to get cut down and posted to the web for employee access.
Fixed computers! Yes…occasionally people will still accost me in the parking lot and demand that I fix their computer…even after I gently explain that I have not worked in IT for a short lifetime now.
Perhaps when we’ve formed a deeper relationship based on mutual trust and respect, kind internet users, then I will share snippets of my social life with you. (Hint: I’m a total square.) But until then, I bid you adieu until the next time I pop my head into the shop. Be well!
